How To Make Content Production Easy

In this article you'll learn:

  • What is 'pillar content'
  • How to create lots of content easily
  • How to create content which is popular

=============================

I know, finding content ideas for social media can be a challenge. Constantly thinking of what to create to hopefully engage an audience.

If your engagement rate or following is low, then you can sometimes feel like 'why should I bother'. I've been there, I know the feeling.

But, content is so important as it helps to nurture your audience, grow it, tell your story and ultimately sell your products.

So, let's take a look at how we can easily create content at scale.

Start with 'Pillar Content'

This is a long-form piece of content, such as a blog post or video, the topics could be:

  • 5 things you can do with leftover wax.
  • 3 tips to clean out your wax burner.
  • 7 fragrance ideas for Spring.
  • Our 8 most recent new fragrances.

You can create just 1 of these long-form pieces of content each month, meaning just 12 per year. Once you have the title you can easily create the content to fill the blog post or video.

I bet that just by looking at my 4 ideas above you could easily create content around them.

This long-form piece of content is known as your 'pillar content', from this you can create multiple other shorter-form content for your various social media platforms.

Break content up

Let's say you've created a blog post titled '7 Fragrance Ideas for Spring'.

You can now create 7 pieces of content from each of the fragrances and share them onto your social media platforms.

From this particular blog post I would create:

  • 7 Instagram Reels highlighting each fragrance and the scent notes. Record this all as 1 video then chop it up into 7 reels within Instagram.
  • 7 Facebook posts, each of which has a photo of your fragrance, details their scent description with a link to the product page.
  • 7 stories with click-through links to your product page.
  • 7 TikTok videos with short clips pieced together and a trending sound.

So, you've had to put real thought and effort into 1 big piece of content (the pillar content) and from there you have managed to create 28 other pieces of content which you can share every couple of days to fill up your content calendar.

When you break it up like this, it does become much easier.

Over on our YouTube Channel I created this video which is long-form and talks about how to start a candle business.

I then chopped the video up into multiple shorter clips which I used as Instagram reels.

Check your insights

You should always check your Instagram Insights to see what content people are engaging with the most, you should then create more content like that. If you need to know how to check this then take a look at this video.

As you can see, if you follow this process it means you only have to really think about and create 12 pieces of content each year.

You can then chop that content up to fill your social media calendar each month.
